e-Empowerment of poor communities
Our mission is the empowerment of poor communities all over Sri Lanka, by providing access to ICT (Information and Communication Technology) facilities, (thus e-Empowerment).
Our core strategy involves three steps;
- ICT Education
- Setting up Village Information Centres (VIC)
- Setting up Telecentres.
We educate and train children, women, youth and adults on the basic access to computers, Internet and key software programs.
We set up Village Information Centres (VIC), at the heart of rural villages to prepare communities to interact with basic information on health, agriculture, education etc.
Telecentres are set up at rural towns, enabling the communities to interact with computers, Internet and other ICT services.
