Best mileage for donor funds

Posted on 08 July 2008 by admin

Every $ reach best mileage in Fusion.

We systematically employ two key strategies to ensure this; Sustainability and Need based delivery.

During last 3 years (2004 - 2007), 4 major donor institutions supported our mission. Microsoft Unlimited Potential (UP), provided 100,000US$ during 2004. Project target was to set up 12 telecentres and 257 scholarships by 2006.

Need based delivery>

During the project period (2004-2006) we provided scholarships to 257 students in 12 districts. Subsequently, after the project period (in 2007), over 25,000 people have accessed IT services, 258 youth received ICT skill training. These telecentres still continue to serve more.

Sustainability>

Scholarship program became a seed fund to develop Social Enterprise of Fusion. During 2007 budget period, 10 telecentres generated 32% of the revenue targets of Fusions social enterprise. That helped to sustain a carder of 10 telecentre operators, and 2 cordinators to ensure the overall mission of fusion.

The project has been completed in 2006. Yet, the impact continues to sustain a mission of empowering poor.
